Hand Knitted and Dyed

You can knit 2 exact socks at the same time!  Each strand of yarn is dyed at the exact spot as the other strand.  This technique makes even randomly dyed colorways produce two identical strands of yarn.

Use the “Magic Loop” method to knit 2 socks at the same time. No need to wind into balls of yarn first, knit directly from the cloth.  Many free resources are available to learn the Magic Loop technique (on-line or YouTube etc.). If desired you may frog the cloth and wind each strand into a ball, but what’s the point to that? Learn a new and fun technique and

Kiss the One Sock Syndrome GOODBYE!

Of course you can knit whatever you want, like sleeves, mittens or gauntlets just to name a few.

All yarn has been thoroughly washed and dried after the dyeing process.

A note about Self-Striping yarn:

This Watermelon colorway is a self-striping yarn. It is designed to be best when circular knitting or flat knitting that has a relatively short length.  Think about the size of a sock – about 80ish sts, for best results.  If stitch count is a little more just expect the stripes to be a bit thinner; If they are fewer, then the stripes may be a bit thicker.

Play around and have fun!

I would recommend to do a gauge swatch to see if the results are acceptable for you. Remember – there is no such thing as the Knitting Police! You have complete control.

  • This is a superwash wool.  This means it is machine wash and dryable. Use a cool water gentle cycle wash and low heat to dry.

I recommend a gentle hand wash to extend the life of the garment and color.
